The Health and Safety Authority have confirmed they were notified after the death of a Kilkenny farmer.
Michael Walsh died in hospital on Friday, weeks after he was attacked by cows on his farm in Donaguile, Castlecomer.
Mr Walsh, who is understood to have been in his 60’s, had recently retired from his job in Glanbia in Ballyragget.
His funeral takes place at 3 o’clock this afternoon.
Castlecomer Councillor, John Brennan told KCLR news the community is in mourning.
