Kilkenny Gardaí say Thomastown and South Kilkenny “inhospitable places” for criminals

Local Gardaí say they’ve made Thomastown and South Kilkenny an inhospitable place for criminal activity.

60 arrests were made yesterday in what they are describing as the most successful day’s work they have so far carried out under Operation Storm.

21 have been charged and will appear at local sittings of Kilkenny District Court in the coming weeks.

80 Gardaí, including uniformed and plainclothes officers and 27 students from Templemore, took part.

12 searches were carried out in the Piltown area and seven small quantities of drugs were seized, including cannabis and cocaine.

Sergeant Peter McConnon says they’re sending a clear message to criminals.
