Two local sports clubs have been given a funding boost.
Bagenalstown Swimming Club and Kilkenny Hockey Club were announced as the county winners for the Texaco Support for Sport initiative.

The County Carlow crew will use its monies for a refurbishment project that will see filters replaced and a resurfacing of the paddling pool and deck area.
While Kilkenny’s victors will purchase sports equipment for new starters, both adults and children, with any remaining balance to be used to increase participation.
Each has been presented with a cheque for €5,000.
Close on 400 clubs submitted applications under the scheme, with 26 successful.
