The hamper hotline’s set to start ringing at KCLR headquarters as Kilkenny Lions Club kick off their 2025 Christmas Appeal.
The Farm Show with Matt O’Keeffe and George Candler has the first outing this evening from 7 to 8pm – about 22 agricultural lots to go under the hammer can be found here and in the Kilkenny People Newspaper.
The general auction rolls out next Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday with a second Farm Show offering that night.
In all more than 200 items have been donated by local businesses across the run.
So wallets at the ready with bargains to avail of while helping those in need locally – the number to ring during auction times is: 056 7796223.
Proceeds will be handed over to St Vincent de Paul, Church of Ireland, social services, Amber Women’s Refuge and other agencies assisting people in our area.
Any remaining surplus will be divided out next year to a range of groups and organisations – three presentation nights were held in 2025 alone between them seeing 23 groups get an unexpected financial boost.
