Kilkenny Mayor says homelessness in the city is worsening

The mayor of Kilkenny says the possibility of housing homeless people in vacant buildings in the city could be looked at in the near future.

According to Fianna Fáil’s Joe Malone the homeless situation in Kilkenny City and surrounds has worsened in the last number of years and he doesn’t see it improving.

Speaking to KCLR, Councillor Malone says housing people in suitable, empty buildings is an idea that he thinks should be explored.
