A local student says families are feeling the pinch when it comes to the costs of returning to school.
Liam says school books alone are expensive enough before adding in extras like specialist equipment needed for certain subjects and things like school bus fees.
He’s heading into 5th year in a Kilkenny secondary school and says his books cost more than €300.
And Liam told KCLR Live earlier that there are always additional ‘voluntary’ fees requested when they start a new school term.
