A local Trócaire worker says hundreds of thousands of families in Nepal are still sleeping outside amid fears of aftershocks from last week’s massive earthquake.
This morning the bodies of around 100 trekkers and villagers were found in a remote village north of Kathmandu.
Officials say the bodies were buried under snow and ice from an avalanche.
63 tonnes of Irish Aid which arrived in Nepal last night contains tents for emergency accommodation.
Kilkenny man and Trócaire’s Emergency Coordinator, Conor O’Loughlin is in the capital Kathmandu where he says 160,000 houses have been destroyed with a further 150,000 very badly damaged.
