Kilkenny Water safety warn of consequences of tampering with lifebuoys

Kilkenny Water Safety say they will be looking to prosecute people who damage or steal lifebuoys in the county.

It follows another incident on Wednesday of this week where lifebuoys were taken from their housing and thrown into the River Nore at Ossory Bridge.

Gary Knox of Kilkenny Water Safety says tampering with or damaging with the life saving devices is unacceptable.

He told KCLR that someone has already been prosecuted and given a jail term over the matter.
