“These figures demonstrate that Carlow is lagging behind, and thats not good enough” – that’s the view of a Carlow Councillor, after new figures showed a large contrast in healthcare vacancies between Carlow and Kilkenny.
At a recent meeting of the Regional Health Forum South, Cllr. Daniel Pender asked for the HSE to provide an update on the number of staff vacancies in the Children’s Disability Network Team for Carlow and Kilkenny.
Cllr. Pender received the figures and shared them with KCLR News.
“Figures were made available that indicate there were nearly ten vacancies in Carlow for CDNT, which is just not good enough”, he said, before continuing that “despite the fact that five additional staff have been hired, there are still ten vacancies to be filled, in Kilkenny there is a sharp contrast, where there are just under one and a half vacancies within North Kilkenny, and no vacancies within the Thomastown area.”
