It could be at least another two years before areas of Carlow and Kilkenny will have sufficient broadband speeds.

It has been revealed that there’s still no date yet for the roll-out of the National Broadband Plan.

Fianna Fail TD Bobby Aylward has hit out at the Communications Minister following the news, and says rural Ireland is being left behind once again.

Speaking to KCLR News, Deputy Aylward says there’s far too much red tape to go through and that’s why we have this setback.

He also said it’s another example of rural Ireland being forgotten about.
