Taoiseach Leo Varadkar says the overcrowding in our emergency departments is not getting any better.
He was speaking to KCLR as he officially opened the 191st Iverk Show in Piltown earlier.
The Taoiseach’s comments come on the same day as a local woman has taken to social media to highlight the overcrowding crisis at St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny.
Natasha has shared pictures on Facebook as she lies on a trolley at the local ED, where she says she’s having to wear an eye mask to block out the lights to get some sleep.
Speaking to KCLR live from the Iverk show a short time ago, Mr Varadkar says pumping money into a health system that is failing, is not the answer.
The Taoiseach also says the attitudes of the public and the media must be changed.
