Councillor Pat Fitzpatrick says hes honoured to be elected Chair of Kilkenny’s Local Community Safety Partnership.
Each county iwill have its own replacemnt for the Joint Policing Committee Carlow will elect its chair at their meeting in December.
Cllr Fitzpatrick told KCLR the new group will meet on a regular basis to discuss issues and measures that can be taken.
He believes it’ll build on the work by the former JPC: “It’s a solutions-based committee, we’ll be coming forward with hopefully some solutions and that people will act on them and look at it’s an opportunity as well for people to air their views. They always feel that we had to have the stakeholders in the room and that’s important, like the Túsla, the HSE, the council An Garda Siochana and all that, so we look forward to building strong foundations that’s already developed from the JPC.”
