A local couple have spoken about their restoration efforts on a derelict building in St. Mullins, in Carlow, ahead of a television appearance tonight.
Emily Lewis and her husband Tommy McDonald are due to be featured on The Great House revival on RTE One this evening, showcasing their work on the property.
The programme will be broadcast at 9.35pm.
Speaking to KCLR News, Emily discussed the property, and the features of the building that the couple wished to restore.
“So basically, the programme follows your journey on your build, and we’re transforming an 1800s cottage, which was basically just a pile of stones”, she said, before adding that “we just loved the stonework, so we just wanted to work with that, so we’ve rebuilt some parts of the cottage, and we have an extension built onto it, so that’ll be kind of the new part.”
