Local farmers on board with crime prevention initiative

Farmers in Carlow and Kilkenny will be the first in the country to be part of a crime prevention initiative being rolled out this year.

“Theftstop” has been launched by the Gardai and the IFA with the local division introducing the system which involves marking vehicles to deter criminals from taking them

It’s been piloted in other counties and has proved very successful so far.

It will see stencils developed for farmers in each IFA branch to spray unique numbers onto their vehicles & farm machinery.
