A local mother says she doesn’t think there’ll be an overnight respite service for Carlow/Kilkenny before 2018.
Linda Comerford who’s child is on a waiting list for respite says parents were told at their last meeting with the HSE representative that a lease on the building hasn’t even been signed.
She says they’ve been told the BEAM building in Bagenalstown is the one that’s being looked at.
Last month KCLR reported that Enable Ireland will operate the new respite service.
Speaking to KCLR News, Linda says even when that lease is signed it’ll still be months before it can open.
