Locals head for Dublin to march on the Dáil over South East Cardiac Care services

People from Carlow, Kilkenny and across the South East are making their way to Dublin this morning for a protest outside the Dáil later.

Trains are said to be busy this morning as locals prepare to join thousands of people for the demonstration this lunchtime.

It’s been organised by the South East Patient Advocacy Group who are calling for the immediate delivery of a 24/7 Cath lab at Waterford University Hospital.

It follows the recent death of Waterford man Thomas Power who didnt survive the ambulance journey to Cork where he was being transferred for cardiac care.

His sister, Catherine told KCLR it’s so important that everyone gets behind this campaign as you never know when you or a member of your family will need this service.
