There’s very good news for a Carlow school and its future expansion plans.
Planning permission had been granted nearly 2 years ago for the works at Knockbeg College which will include the renovation of the existing building which is more than 220 years old aswell as a brand new extension to the facility.
The Department of Education has now given the go ahead to appoint a builder for the project.
There’s currently about 430 students enrolled at the school.
When complete, the works will allow for bigger numbers at the local boys secondary school with demand for places continually growing.
