A Kilkenny Councillor says he would like to see a ‘Hackney’ service introduced for elderly people in Kilkenny.
It comes as the future of the existing bus route supplied by ‘RingALink’ hangs in the balance.
Green Party Councillor, Malcolm Noonan, says it’s costing people far too much to pay for taxis in and out of the city.
It’s becoming more of a problem for elderly people who have to attend hospital appointments, but cannot afford to pay for a taxi.
Speaking to KCLR news, Councillor Noonan says a ‘Hackney’ service would alleviate some transport problems for the elderly.
