Man arrested in Portlaoise after attempted armed robbery at Fairgreen business

A man has been arrested during an attempted armed robbery in Laois.

It’s after staff at a business in the Fairgreen estate in Portlaoise were threatened by a person who had brandished a knife and demanded money from the till yesterday at around midday.

Gardai­ arrested a man in his 20s – he’s since been charged and is due before Portlaoise District Court this morning.
