The silver Toyota Hilux had been robbed in Killenaule and was later found abandoned in New Ross after a major search operation involving Gardai from Kilkenny and Carlow.

A man in his mid 20s was arrested in Kilkenny on Thursday and appeared before a special sitting of the District Court on Saturday on car theft charges.

He was remanded in custody to Cloverhill prison and appeared by video-link at Kilkenny District Court again this afternoon.

He’s been further remanded to appear in court again on the 15th of June.
