Meath on goal streak as Carlow exposed in DCP

Carlow have suffered a huge loss in today’s Leinster football q-final in Dr Cullen park.

Mickey Newman scored a hatrick of goals in the 7-16 to 0-6 win as Meath led 3-6 to 0-2 at the break.

Carlow hit 6 wides inside the opening 20 minutes and once Newman scored his first from the penalty spot the floodgates opened.

The biggest cheer of the day came late in the game when a streaker entered the pitch and ran the full length of the field  in DCP

Carlow now face Waterford in the football qualifiers later this month-Meath are in the Leinster semi final with Kildare
