Meeting to take place between Callan Community Network and parents of children in community creche

A meeting is to take place today between Callan Community Network and parents of children in the local community creche.

The Community Network are the landlords of the childcare facility run by the Droichead Family Resource Centre and, earlier this year, a notice to quit was served to them by the Network.

A number of public meetings and demonstrations have been held since by those who want the service to stay open and to remain in the hands of Droichead.

However, Callan Community Network have decided for a number of reasons that putting the service out to tender would be the best option.

The outcome of that is not yet known.
