A large crowd is expected to turn out in St John’s Church, Kilkenny this evening for a suicide awareness talk.
Local soccer player, Mikey Drennan will be a guest speaker at the event along with psychologist Fergus Heffernan.
This is the 5th year of the mental health talk – which began in 2012 when Cork hurler Conor Cusack spoke about his struggles.
Evergreen’s Mikey Drennan, who’s also a former Shamrock Rovers and Aston Villa player spoke openly about his depression a number of months ago.
Speaking to KCLR at the time, he said opening up helped other people to do the same.
The suicide awareness talk takes place from 7.30pm this evening.
