Our Minister of State John Paul Phelan is on a tour of South East Asia.
Minister Phelan is meeting the Filipino Department of foreign Affairs today in Manilla.
The Carlow-Kilkenny Fine Gael Deputy is visiting The Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia to represent us and the Irish Government for the St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
He met the Asian Development Bank and the Irish community yesterday and helped launch Avonmore UHT milk.
After today’s meeting with government officials he’s off to Singapore for more ministerial and embassy meetings as well as visiting a Kingspan Construction Project and attending a St Patrick’s Society Ball on Friday.
On Saturday he’ll be at the St Patrick’s Day Irish Ball in Kuala Lumpur.
Minister Phelan’s obligations will finish on Monday evening with a dinner hosted by the Irish Ambassador Eamon Hickey.
