A mobile cath-lab has been granted for University Hospital Waterford.
Independent Minister John Halligan made the announcement this morning after talks went on late last night.
The Waterford representative had threatened to resign if those talks hadn’t gone his way – and, while he ultimately wants a second permanent cath-lab there, he says this is a major step forward.
At the moment the hospital has one part-time cath-lab which has resulted in a waiting list of over 800 people.
A march has been organised to take place tomorrow by the South East Patient Advocacy Group and Minister Halligan says it’s still important that as many people as possible show up.
