More than 20 horses were seized in South Kilkenny yesterday.
Gardaí in Thomastown were alerted to assist Department of Agriculture officials in the operation in the Mullinavat area at around 12 o clock.
26 live animals were taken away from the scene.
A Garda investigation will follow.
