A new law could finally allow local breweries and distilleries offer their produce for sale on site.
The Cabinet’s agreed to accept a Labour bill which would allow craft breweries to sell their own products to visitors.
However it’s decided that it will amend the bill so that people will only be allowed to take a drink once they’ve completed a tour first.
Seamus O Hara from Carlow Brewing Company says as things stand they have visitors to the brewery but are forbidden to sell or give them any beer.
He said it would present huge tourism opportunities for breweries.
