New Cathaoirligh for Carlow and Kilkenny

Kilkenny Councillor David Fitzgerald says it’s an honour to be taking up the roll of Cathaoirleach of the County Council.
The Fine Gael man takes up the mantle from Fianna Fáil’s Matt Doran.
Speaking to KCLR news Cllr Fitzgerald said it was a huge honour to be elected and he was humbled.
Meanwhile, in Carlow later today Fine Gael’s John Murphy will be handing over the Cathaoirleach’s chain to his successor.
Councillor William Paton will be taking up the role there, with fellow Labour Councillor Willie Quinn as Leas-Chathaoirleach.
