New jobs for Carlow to come on stream within weeks

Half of the 230 jobs announced by Topaz for Carlow and Fermoy yesterday will be coming locally.

The new motorway service area, which will include a McDonald’s at Junction 5, Tinryland, of the M9  is expected to be open in the next couple of weeks.

It had originally been thought that in the region of 70 jobs would be created locally.

However Topaz have now confirmed to KCLR News that there will in fact be 115 people employed there between Topaz & McDonalds when it opens in March.

That doesn’t include those involved during the construction of the development.
