The new operators of the Carlow/Kilkenny Dog Shelter say their take over was made so much easier by the staff.
Midland Animal Care began running the centre from the start of July – taking over from the ISPCA.
They’re an Offaly-based company who run other similar facilities in the midlands area.
Ian Kenny, co-director of the company says they were very fortunate in that they managed to keep the staff that were already there and had been working in the centre for years
The shelter has also launched a new Facebook page which Mr Kenny says is part of their efforts to engage more with the public.
