The New Ross Bypass Bridge will open this year.
The route starts at a roundabout junction with the N25 at Glenmore before crossing over the River Barrow from Pink Rock with the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge which when finished will be the longest of its kind in the country at 900 meters.
From the Wexford side it extends from Stokestown with the two points set to meet later this year.
Sean Dobbs, from Kildavin in Co Carlow, is the engineer overseeing the project for Wexford & Kilkenny county councils. He’s been telling KCLR that the bridge will open in the fourth quarter of this year – listen back to his chat with Sue Nunn here:
