Three north Kilkenny water treatment plants are among 26 nationwide to fall under a nighttime restrictions tonight.
Uisce Éireann has issued the notice for 26 areas nationwide where levels in treated water reservoirs are historically low as consumption increases during the latest heatwave.
Under particular pressure are the greater Dublin area, Wexford, West Cork, South Tipperary, West Donegal and Kilkenny – in the latter it includes those in Castlecomer served by Nanny’s Well, Gurteen and Clogh-Castlecomer WTPs.
