No changes yet to Vicar Street junction in Kilkenny following the opening of St Francis Bridge

There’ll be no changes to the Vicar Street junction in Kilkenny City just yet, according to the County Council.

They had said that a one-way system on the narrow street would be considered once the new bridge was opened and drivers had a chance to settle into new routines.

It’s been more than two months now since the ribbon was cut on St Francis Bridge and Director of Services, Tim Butler says they’ve decided there’s no need for any hasty changes.

Speaking to KCLR News, he says they will however be carrying out another mobility management plan.
