Nurses in St Luke’s Department of Psychiatry are under constant pressure, according to the executive clinical director of Mental Health Services for the South East.
Dr Stephen Browne has been speaking to KCLR Live about the services available both locally and nationally.
He says that while the services have greatly improved in the last number of years, they have difficulty when it comes to filling vacant roles.
At the moment, there are 30 unfilled roles for Occupational Therapists and Social Workers in the local DOP.
There are also 26 unfilled posts for clinical psychologists.
However, speaking to KCLR, Dr Browne says the situation locally is no different to what’s happening nationally.
