Operation Storm hits Thomastown today

10 arrests have been made already this morning as Operation Storm targets the Thomastown district today.

150 Gardaí have been deployed across the South of Kilkenny for the day.

Superintendent Derek Hughes outlined what’s been happening so far:

“The operation’s ongoing since Monday, there’s been an increase in checkpoint and patrol activity particularly in the Stonyford and Piltown areas. Since early this morning we’re arrested 10 people sop far for offense relating to thefts, burglaries and drugs also. We’re in the early stages of the operation and we expect that number to climb during the day.”
