Patient Advocacy Service supporting people who’ve had negative experiences in public hospitals

Patients across Carlow and Kilkenny are coming forward with a "broad variety" of complaints

Patients across Carlow and Kilkenny are coming forward with a “broad variety” of complaints about their treatment in public hospitals.

That’s according to Claire Lehane, Manager of the newly established Patient Advocacy Service.

The service offers free, independent and confidential support to anyone wishing to make a complaint to HSE about the care they’ve received.

Claire’s been telling KCLR News about what kind of issues have caused the most grievance; We’ve received a broad range of complaints – such as people unhappy with their overall experience, those who’ve had an unexpected outcome and safety issues among others.
