Playground at Kilkenny Castle Park closed due to “health and safety issues”

The playground at Kilkenny Castle Park has had to close.

A notice has gone up saying they’ve taken the decision due to “unforeseen health and safety issues”.

The OPW has now told KCLR it closed to the public last Wednesday because it requires urgent attention.

It opened almost 11 years ago and they say they have wear and tear issues that need to be dealt with – in some cases the equipment will need to be replaced.

They haven’t got a date yet for when the playground will reopen.
