Positive progress is being made at the Carlow/Kilkenny Dog Shelter, according to Andrew McGuinness.
The Kilkenny Councillor says the license for the shelter is still out to tender, but steps are being made to improve it in the meantime.
It’s currently being run by the ISPCA on a monthly basis, until a full-time occupant is found to run it.
Improvements are being made at the shelter in Paulstown – including a new isolation unit, and an exercise arena for the dogs.
Speaking to KCLR news today, Councillor McGuinness says they hope to create a template for shelters nationwide.
