A new MRI scanner for St Lukes Hospital looks like its finally going to happen.
It will mean local patients will no longer have to travel to access the service at other hospitals.

KCLR news understands that final approval will be given later this week but Minister Ann Phelan in a statement today has revealed the local hospital is being prioritised for this.
The Friends of St Lukes played a huge role in it by fundraising quarter of a million euro towards the scanner.
