Pumphouse problems causing huge water outages in Kilkenny today

Irish Water says an issue in the pumphouse is to blame for water being off in the wider Bennettsbridge area today.

There was a pump failure overnight and as a result Bennettsbridge, Sheastown, Danesfort, Seven Houses, Kells, Dunnamaggin and surrounding areas have no water this morning.

Repairs are currently being carried out and are expected to be completed by lunchtime today.

Supply will then begin to return to the area over the course of the afternoon and evening.

Separately a pumphouse failure in Ballyhale means water is out until 2pm today in Ballyhale, Knocktopher, Stoneyford and surrounding areas.
