Ras Na Mban Underway as 20th Edition Gets Rolling

The 20th edition of Rás na mBan got underway yesterday, with 22 teams from 14 nations taking part across six stages over five days.

The opening stage saw the riders race from Kilkenny to Fresford, with Denmark’s Alma Rasmussen taking victory in a time of 2:36:59.

Ireland’s Aoife O’Brien finished in second place to claim a strong opening result.

Stage two gets underway today in Gorey, County Wexford, with riders facing a demanding 97-kilometre loop.

The stage is due to get underway shortly after 11am, with the race continuing through Wexford as the battle for overall honours begins to take shape.
