The county councils are distributing salt and grit to a number of locations around Kilkenny and Carlow in preparation for the coming days.
The severe weather that’s been forecast is expected to cause some disruption to transport and councils have been making plans for that, outlining the routes that they will be treating.
However as they cant get to every road they are making arrangements for some more rural areas.
