Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor says she would be hopeful that changes to the constituency boundary might give her more of a shot at swapping her senate seat for a Dáil seat in the future.

The Carlow politician was speaking after a commission  this week recommended the entire two counties of Carlow and Kilkenny would be one constituency.

For the last 21 years, East Carlow voters were being asked to cast their ballots for Wicklow candidates.

Senator Murnane O’Connor ran in the last General Election but narrowly missed out on one of the 5  seats.

Speaking to KCLR News, she says she will now be looking to earn some of the East Carlow votes next time around
