Carlow Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor has criticised the new ‘help to buy’ scheme, branding it as unfair.
The initiative was announced last year, and is being brought on stream this week to help budding home-owners.
First time buyers can benefit to the tune of €20,000, but only if the house is a new-build.
Senator Murnane O’Connor thinks the scheme should be available to people who want to buy second-hand homes too.
But speaking to KCLR news, she says those who are eligible should make sure and avail of it.
