Sharon Whelan’s mother Nancy says she’s “dead inside” since her daughter’s murder

The words of Nancy Whelan, the mother of Sharon Whelan who was murdered in her home in Windgap in Co. Kilkenny on Christmas Day in 2008.

The bodies of Sharon and her daughters Nadia and Zara were discovered following a fire at their home.

Nancy appeared on the Late Late Show on RTE television last night, alongside her husband Christy and their son John.

The man convicted of their murders is due for parole shortly although its fully expected he will not be granted release.
