Carlow-girl Shauntelle Tynan has had a tough couple of weeks during her cancer treatment in Texas.
That’s according to her parents who are posting regular updates on the teenagers Facebook page.
Shauntelle Tynan is attending the children’s hospital in Houston Texas, where she is being treated for hystiocytosis-X.
According to the teenager’s fundraising Facebook page, Shauntelle is being kept in hospital so she can be made as comfortable as possible.
In a video posted on Facebook last month, Shauntelle pleaded with the public to support her health care costs in the US and said specialist treatment would be her “last-chance”.
She made the journey back to Texas after her gofundme page surpassed its target of five hundred thousand euro.
An update on her Facebook page says that “Shan started her clinical trial of a high dose targeted chemotherapy, we hope that she will respond well and this will be the right treatment to help her hit hard and beat cancer once and for all”
Shauntelle has to spend approximately 12 months in Texas to have her cancer treatment completed.
