Significant travel disruption as strike affects bus & rail services in Kilkenny & Carlow

Locals who use Bus Eireann services are being forced to make alternative travel plans today.

An all-out strike started at midnight as drivers refuse to work under the threat of pay cuts.

The company announced this week that its axing the local X7 Expressway Clonmel Dublin service on April 2nd but as of this morning none of the local routes are operating anyway due to the industrial action.

The trains are also affected.

Iarnród Eireann says their Waterford-Dublin line has limited services operating today but between Kilkenny and Dublin only.

The 7.10 train out of Waterford is cancelled as was the 6am service – Irish Rail says now its first service from Kilkenny is not until later this morning at 11.41am
