Gerry Adams has high hopes that Kathleen Funchion can be the 5th TD for Carlow-Kilkenny.
The Sinn Fein leader is in town later to launch the Kilkenny councillors by-election campaign.

He will be joined by Deputy Mary Lou McDonald and Pearse Doherty at the Newpark hotel tonight for the event.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of that he had high praise for the local councillor.
