Six local men and women can now call themselves Gardaí after this week’s passing out parade in Templemore.
More than 200 probationary Gardaí are now being sent to stations around the country to begin their careers.
Four Kilkenny women and two Kilkenny men are now embarking on their careers as members of An Garda Síochána.
They are Clodagh Doyle, Ciarán Wallace, Lisa McNulty, Sonia Buggy, Marie Therése O’Neill, and Kevin Cleere.
All except for Garda Cleere will be going to Dublin stations, while he’ll be heading to Waterford.
There aren’t any Carlow graduates this time around, but Carlow Town Garda Station is still getting four new members.
Kilkenny, on the other hand, isn’t getting any.
Carlow will be welcoming Wexford man, Brian Wilkinson, James Riordan and Bryan Dunne – both from Tipperary, and Leitrim woman, Aisling Burke.
A total of 205 people graduated as probationary Gardaí from the training college in Templemore.
