Source of an oil leak into the River Burren has been identified.

Irish Water says they understand the source of an oil leak into the River Burren has now been identified.
The Sion Cross Water Treatment Plant was shut down on the 13th of July after the council and Irish Water were alerted to a fuel spill into the River Burren.
The plant remains out of action which means the supply to the town is coming from just two sources and water pressure is still being reduced at night.
Irish Water have told KCLR News that they’re working on a “technical solution” at the Sion Cross plant and are continuing to liaise with the HSE in relation to any possible risks to drinking water.
